Best Tips for Christmas Shopping

By Stephen Pachikare

Christmas is only a few days away and it will be a better idea to start planning your holiday shopping right away and buy the gifts in advance. Some of you might have already bought the gifts for Christmas during Black Friday sale. For others who did not get a chance to take advantage of the Black Friday sale, try not to wait till the last minute. You know for sure that you are going to have to buy the gifts for all your family members, so what are you waiting for?

You must spend some time to make a list of all the things that your family wants and should start the research early to get good deals. Many of the retailers have already started their sale prices for many gift items and you should take advantage of it in the next couple of days. Waiting till the last minute most probably won't get you any good deals and worse than that sometimes they run out of stock. In the case of some HOT items, even if they have it on stock, sometimes you might end up paying the full price because they know that you are desperate for that item and will buy it regardless of the price at the last minute.

If you are not much into malls filled with shoppers, then also you might want to start early. Christmas is the biggest holiday shopping season and all the stores will be filled with shoppers. If you plan your shopping ahead, you will not have to deal with the holiday rush. Recent surveys shows that if you start your shopping early by mid December, you should be able to save 15-20 percent than the late shoppers who start their shopping after the 20th. So why not shop early and save some money?

Online shopping has increased considerably in the last couple of years and more and more people are turning into online shopping these days. Most of the retailers are also promoting online sales by offering free shipping. So make sure you take advantage of the free shipping offers  by ordering early. Another thing to keep in mind is that sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks for the item you have purchased to reach you depending on the product availability. Planning your purchase and ordering early can help you to get the item on time before Christmas. This year I used my virtual assistant to do all the online shopping for me. I just gave him the list of all the items that I needed and he did all the research for me and ordered all the items at their best prices.

If you really want to save some money and stock up for the next year, you can wait till after Christmas since most of the seasonal items will go on sale right after Christmas. You can save 50-75% of the regular price depending on the item. If your Christmas tree is falling apart and you need another one for the next year, that would be the best time to buy. Since most of these are seasonal items, retailers do not want to keep their stock for another year and waste their space, they would rather sell them off at highly discounted prices and save the space. So what are you waiting for? Gear up and head straight to the greatest shopping season of the year!!
