11 Simple and Safe Homeopathy Remedies

By Oktay

Homeopathy for autism is a treatment that sometimes works but seldom is tried. If you have a person with autism in your care, you may want to try some or all of the simple and safe homeopathic remedies listed here.

Homeopathy is not a tradition of "one disease, one cure." The treatments of homeopathy are intended to address the whole person after a careful examination of symptoms, emotions, life experiences, and personality. Whether it is the process of diagnosis, of getting to know someone, that really does the treatment or whether it is actually something in the homeopathic remedy that causes the change, science does not tell us. (However, clinical studies of some remedies indicate a drug-like action.)

homeopathy medicine Like so much of what parents and caregivers do for people who have autism, homeopathy requires the caregiver to experiment to find what works. At least homeopathy is inexpensive, does not interfere with medications, and causes no side effects. Here are some potential treatments you can find in any homeopathy kit.

  • Apis mellifica is given to treat burning or stinging pain.
  • Arsenicum album treats people who suffer violent reactions to many different foods and wind-borne allergens. It also is recommended for people who are easily upset by changes in small details of daily life and who are compulsive about orderliness.
  • Carbo vegetabilis relieves is for people who have issues with bloating, flatulence, or a frequent need to burp, especially if the symptoms occur when eating, talking, or lying down. It is also used for people who have coughing fits.
  • Causticum is offered to people who have problems with runny nose or accidents on the way to urinate.
  • Chamomilla treats people who have symptoms triggered by windborne pollen or changes in the weather. It is especially appropriate for treating children who have asthma.
  • Clematis relieves hesitation at going to potty.
  • Ipecacuanha treats coughing fits that lead to vomiting. If you have read about vitamin D and autism, you know that autistic children who don't get outside enough have vitamin D deficiencies that lead to upper respiratory infections. This remedy is designed for those people with autism, even though it does not contain any vitamin D itself.
  • Lycopodium treats people whose most prominent symptom is excessive gas.
  • Natrum sulphuricum relieves symptoms that are triggered by contact with mold. People who benefit from this remedy tend to overindulge in alcohol, sweets, or spicy food, or suffer upset stomach when given essential fatty acids.
  • Pulsatilla is typically recommended for people who cough up large quantities of yellow phlegm. The person who benefits from this remedy is likely to be subject to mood swings.
  • Spongia tosta is, as hard as it may be to believe, given to people who make barking sounds or who talk make other noises during their sleep. Symptoms successfully relieved by this treatment usually start during the first few hours of sleep.

Choose an appropriate remedy can give the dosage recommended on the label for 3 days. If symptoms improve, continue the remedy. If they do not, choose another appropriate remedy and try for another 3 days, using only one remedy at a time. The process of understanding the person to choose the right remedy may be almost as curative as the homeopathic remedy itself.

Hi Sarah
This was a guest post by Oktay, so I guess the question should be directed to the author. I'm no expert in homeopathy so I can only refer you to some other oniine resources. Perhaps this page can help.

Hi!

One of my youngest daughter’s best friends has autism, and he is the sweetest little boy. He spends a lot of time at our house during the week after school, and I’ve learned so much about the condition by spending time with him, finding supportive information online, and working with his parents to make sure we give him a comforting environment every time he comes over.

I wanted to email you to first say thanks for all of the wonderful information you provide that supports people with autism. I also wanted to send you some articles I’ve found that I think you and your readers will find helpful if they’re added to this page or a similar one. Here they are.

How to Explain Autism to Children

Creating the Ultimate Sensory Room for Your Toddler

Top Safety Tips and Products for Kids With Autism

How to Stop Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from Wandering

How Nutrition Impacts Children With Autism

12 Popular Games Adapted for Children with Autism

18 Social Skills Activities for Kids with Autism and Sensory Issues

And lastly, may I write something original for you on how to create a safe and fun backyard for kids who have autism? I think it’s a great topic, especially for spring and summer.

Thanks!

Linda
