How to Practice Mindfulness Throughout your Work Day

Everyone has definitely felt it before, you try and start out your day with the intention of being incredibly productive, and end up wondering what happened when the day is finally over. Achieving your priorities has a lot more to do with your mental state and how relaxed and centred you are than how organised you are. As you go through life, it becomes more and more crucial to understand how to focus your brain on what is important rather than taking on the stressors which surround you in everyday life. So what are the best ways to increase your productivity through mindfulness throughout the day?

1. Be Mindful Before You Leave the House

When you wake up, take time to breathe and centre your thinking before you even think about going to work. The right thing to do is have a routine for every morning and stick to it. Stress builds up over the morning in anticipation of what is to come during the day, and taking time to breathe in and out and focus your thoughts helps to combat this stress before it even starts to form.

2. Start your Office Time Right

When you get to the office, make intentional steps to centre yourself for the day. No matter what profession you are in or how your work usually makes you feel, there is always going to be stress in everyday life. The best way to start out your days in the office is by taking one minutes worth of deep and long breaths alongside a cup of your favourite hot drinks to calm down any building nerves or tensions. 3. Be Mindful Throughout the Day

Throughout the day there are bound to be things which wind you up and get on your nerves naturally, but it is important to recognise when these stressors occur and what triggers cause them to occur. Once you recognise what triggers your stress hormones, it is important to know what then releases that stress and allows you to re-centre yourself. Mindfulness comes in all shapes and sizes for different people, and it is certainly not a one size fits all kind of thing.
